NOVOCOMEDY, the global distributor and producer of non-verbal comedy content, is in Cannes to explore potential partnerships with agencies and brands. The company has a curated library of more than 100,000 clips providing comedy content for television, FAST, AVOD, inflight entertainment, digital publishing and emerging media platforms.

“Our business has always been B2B, how about working with us to make it a B2C?” said founder and CEO Francois-Xavier Poirier. The content spans pranks, home videos, fails, magic, sports bloopers, animation and comedy formats designed to travel globally.
“Our content is built around visual comedy, allowing it to cross language barriers and connect with audiences everywhere,” he said.
Poirier said the media industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation: “Broadcasters, streaming platforms, FAST operators, digital publishers, social platforms and brands are all facing the same challenge: they need more content, for more platforms, in more territories, with greater efficiency and lower production costs.”
At the same time, he said, audiences are consuming entertainment differently with short-form video consumption continuing to grow rapidly across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, connected television and FAST platforms.
That shift creates a unique opportunity for non-verbal content because it is instantly understandable, highly shareable, family-friendly, brand safe and adaptable across multiple platforms.
He said Novocomedy’s library was built precisely around such characteristics, allowing it to travel naturally across borders.
“The opportunity today is not simply to license content. The opportunity is to help platforms, publishers, brands and media partners deliver laughter at a global scale.”
